Cátedra Unesco Derechos Humanos y Violencia

This publication is the product of research completed within the framework of the UNESCO Chair "Human Rights and Violence: Government and Governance", at the Externado University of Colombia. It is composed of eight chapters that address relevant topics such as justice, the environment, education, tourism and historical memory, as means to restore the broken ties of Colombian society.

This book seeks to make the voices of people who have been victims of forced displacement or who are in vulnerable conditions heard. Based on the different experiences of agency, we want to contribute to the construction of regulatory and public policy instruments that allow expanding the definitions of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition, under a restorative perspective. This restorative perspective makes visible the dialogues that have been carried out between the different participants and identifies points of consensus between the needs and expectations of the population in vulnerable conditions and institutional and regulatory expectations. In this sense, the need to recognize the capabilities and resources that this population develops from their environments to advance towards social transformation, the guarantee of rights and the construction of peace is highlighted.
