Corrientes epistemológicas para navegar entre geografía y educación es el resultado de una fértil alianza académica, convocada desde el Programa de Geografía de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas de la Universidad Externado de Colombia, en asocio con el Semillero de Investigación Formación y Educación Geográfica Itinerantes (Sifegi) de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas y la Sociedad Geográfica de Colombia. El interés es promover saberes geo- gráficos en escenarios educativos que redunden en la formación de sujetos informados y tomadores de decisiones con afecto en sus lugares, regiones y el planeta entero.
En este sentido, en el libro se propone la comprensión de enfoques epistemológicos para reflexionar sobre la institucionalización de la geografía, así como su evolución, paradigmas y relación con la educación geográfica como práctica formativa. Esto, por parte de quienes se atreven a pensar, proponer, preguntar e idear argumentos necesarios para la formación de personas que construyan las relaciones y condiciones necesarias para habitar este país y este mundo con justica espacial.
Epistemological currents to navigate between geography and education is the result of a fertile academic alliance, convened by the Geography Program of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the Externado University of Colombia, in partnership with the Research Seedbed on Training and Itinerant Geographic Education (Sifegi) of the Francisco José de Caldas District University and the Geographic Society of Colombia. The interest is to promote geographical knowledge in educational settings that contribute to the formation of informed subjects and decision-makers with affection for their places, regions, and the entire planet.
In this sense, the book proposes the understanding of epistemological approaches to reflect on the institutionalization of geography, as well as its evolution, paradigms, and its relationship with geographic education as a formative practice. This is aimed at those who dare to think, propose, question, and devise necessary arguments for the formation of people who build the relations and conditions necessary to inhabit this country and this world with spatial justice.
