Cultura y Poder
Reflexiones interdisciplinarias en ciencias sociales. Cuadernos del CIDS Serie I N. 34
The articles that make up this book come from authors who share a certain common "academic ecosystem", a periodic and creative meeting space that occurs in university settings and where students play a fundamental role. Those who write here are part of the Culture and Society Research Area of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Externado University of Colombia, so this book constitutes an effort to build coherence and cohesion as a research group.
The common thread that articulates it is the relationship between culture and politics, a matter that allows establishing some type of chain between the different texts that compose it. Although they come from researchers with diverse educational backgrounds, the common denominator present in each of the texts is a plural effort to assume culture as a historical construct associated with various forms of tension and interweavings of power. In that order, the book takes on the challenge of thinking about contemporary society from the lens of an active and tense culture, this being the perspective from which it is . They address relevant topics in social sciences and humanities, such as memory, identity, gender, time, the idea of nature, racism, science and representation.
