Derechos humanos y la actividad empresarial en Colombia
Implicaciones para el estado social de derecho
This collective work focuses on trying to resolve one of the most significant challenges facing the Colombian state: how to achieve a balance between market liberalization, standards for the protection of foreign investment, economic freedoms (free enterprise, free competition, etc.), and constitutional and conventional mandates regarding the protection of the human rights of the population and vulnerable groups, which are frequently in conflict or tension.
Therefore, the various authors approach this issue from the academic perspectives of various interest groups (skateboarders), such as state institutions that protect human rights, consumers, environmental rights activists, ethnic groups, and academics. This work presents different interpretations of the relationships between companies in the mining, energy, and pharmaceutical sectors, among others, and their relationships with the territorial rights of ethnic communities, such as prior consultation, health, and other constitutionally recognized fundamental rights.
