El Modelo Bit Pase para la Planeación Territorial con Perspectiva Poblacional

This document is the result of more than 15 years of research and capacity building for participatory planning with a population perspective that the Externado University of Colombia has carried out with national and international partners such as the United Nations Population Fund, development programs and Peace of Meta, Magdalena Medio and Montes de María, and national entities such as the National Planning Department, the Ministry of Housing, City and Territory and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. As a result of these years of work in the country's territories and with these entities, the Externado University of Colombia, from the line of research of Population, Environment and Development of the area of Demography and Population Studies, took on the task of consolidating a conceptual, methodological, technical and operational model that allows the integration of the population and its dynamics into the development and territorial planning processes and the formulation of derived public policies.

This model, known as the Balance of Tensions model that is generated in the interactions between the Population, its Environmental base and its Socioeconomic dynamics (BIT PASE for its acronym), seeks to generate new and relevant knowledge for decision-making. public policy decisions.
