El trabajo social y la perspectiva histórico-crítica

Product of the research of each of the authors on Social Work in Latin America, this book combines the efforts to understand and know the bases of the theoretical-methodological-historical-critical perspective, unprecedented in the training of the majority of Spanish speaking countries. Derived from this gap in professional training, the need arises to disseminate the production of scientific knowledge developed on the subject in recent decades in social work.

It is a material that, articulated, combines the perspective of two Colombian professionals, whose analysis leaves as a result some considerations on theoretical development, professional practice and the construction of ethical-political-professional projects, which are fundamental for the consolidation of the profession. and critical professional subjects, material that, in turn, also aims to be a source of knowledge for students, teachers and researchers who consider it necessary to go beyond the hegemonic trends in the social sciences, allowing themselves to address and understand the theoretical trends existing in social work, interested in expanding the historical-professional vision of theoretical production, providing subsidies to understand reality, the profession and society.

 This theoretical overview allows us to analyze how in the midst of this project, which aims at collective construction in favor of the subaltern class, we can also think about the limits and possibilities of professional practice and advance in the development of research that aims to strengthen it as a category. professional, as professional subjects and as actors linked to society.
