This book addresses the relationship between architecture and educational mentalities. It shows how the dominant imaginaries are materialized in the architectural spaces of the official schools of Bogotá, by capturing the social and cultural movements that drive them.
It is based on the fact that architectural spaces surround and envelop us, and are present in every detail of our lives; Thus, a particular space, a nook, a corner, a living room or a room, which at times are or were part of what was experienced, when evoked they make us remember what happened inside, and go further and dream about what could have been been, with what was, with what is or with what will be. It is here where the imaginary order plays a key role in the experience and perception of spaces since these are inscribed as "a new anthropology of desire", which allows us to determine the socially constructed forms of action.
Then, cold and heat are combined; the coldness of the architectural object that acquires meaning when it meets the warmth of life. This is how the conditions of possibility of an institution, a concept, can be determined: stripping them of traditional explanations, in order to recognize that the architectural object called "school" is not only a physical construction, but acquires multiple interpretations resulting from its intended use and ideological projections and knowledge about education.
To inhabit a territory is to take it, mark it with our emotions, feelings and illusions; In other words, it is to build it, and re-build it, permanently, from our imaginaries.
