Retos y perspectivas de la política criminal.

This book is the product of the 2015 investigations that were shared at the National Congress on Challenges and Perspectives of Criminal Policy.

We have called the first part of the book "Pluralism and criminal policy"; it includes the following chapters: "Intercultural processing of disputes in a Guarayan community": This analyzes the traditional relationship of inequality that exists in Latin America between the indigenous legal orders and the state ones. "Criminal policy and pluralism in Colombia" investigates the reason for the lack of knowledge of indigenous jurisdiction in the collision of jurisdictions; "Approach to the Kassavetia agricultural prison" explains the importance of the study of agricultural prisons; and Pluralism in Italian penitentiaries: the Muslim population in the Verona prison" presents the situation of this prison population in Europe.

 We have called the second part of the book "Criminal Policy, women and human rights", it contains the following chapters: "The need for a criminal policy on drugs that recognizes the situation of vulnerability faced by women"; " Femininity and 'Memory' in Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration Programmes" highlights the processes of disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration of female ex-combatants in Colombia; and "Prison within the prison. Special treatment units: deprivation of rights" analyzes how these units cause a more severe deprivation sentence than the one imposed at the time of the commission of the crime.
